Lavabit's Ladar Levison on a page from Atlas Shrugged

It's easy to see Ladar Levison as a crusader for privacy and against government surveillance. When the federal government demanded his encryption keys, Ladar Levison shut down his private email service, Lavabit, rather than compromise his users’ privacy. Private email was the business he was in, and a new form of private email is now one of his projects.
