We are pleased to share with you the following letter to ARI contributors from Dr. Yaron Brook.
Dear Contributor:
As you know, current political, economic and cultural trends are irrational and worrisome.
The forces of unreason, coercion and collectivism are extraordinarily well-funded. To take just one isolated example, recent estimates of the annual spending of environmentalist groups alone top $1 billion—more than 100 times ARI's 2013 revenues.
Nevertheless we continue to fight—and thanks to you we are making progress. In the past year we:
- Sent more than 418,000 books to classrooms. We estimate that more than a million young people read Ayn Rand in the last school year.
- Delivered and participated in over 130 talks, panel discussions and debates in front of over 15,000 students, activists and general public. Many of these were recorded, loaded to YouTube and watched by tens of thousands.
- Attracted more than 4,000 serious students to our new online learning platform, ARI Campus.
- Created over 80 videos for YouTube—attracting over 200,000 views.
- Held a dozen briefings and events for Congressional Staffers on Capitol Hill.
- Appeared more than 170 times in the media via radio, TV and web interviews.
- Had more than 3.5 million visits to aynrand.org and our other web sites.
- Interacted with two million people through our Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.
These are just a few of our many achievements this year. The good news is that we are continuing to grow and to advance the Institute's mission. The even better news, of course, is that we have reason and reality on our side. With sufficient resources we can win.
As the year draws to a close, please consider contributing to the Ayn Rand Institute—to allow us to step up the battle against irrationality and collectivism in the year ahead.
